Organic Chemistry Klein 3rd Edition

Organic Chemistry Klein 3rd EditionOrganic Chemistry Klein has had some recent updates and is now the third edition. In the past three editions, it has been updated from a web version to a PDF. It is my opinion that it is a great resource for students studying chemistry and also people who are just interested in learning about science.I have used this book for chemistry class and can say that the material is very well presented and easy to understand. It really is a book that you can bring home and use on your own. It has sections that cover various types of chemical compounds. You can study and know how the compounds work together, their reactions, the elements that they have, and things like that.In addition to these sections, there are also several other sections on topics like cleaning, metabolism, lighting, pH, tissue and enzymes. It has a lot of information. However, sometimes it is hard to keep up with all of the information when you are reading this book. This book is written as a handbook for a chemistry class. This type of text is used to help the students learn chemistry. The material is written in an easy to understand way that makes it very convenient to read and to understand. The textbooks are very popular and well respected. You will find that it is used by many universities and colleges to teach chemistry. Some of the more popular colleges have taken advantage of this book.It is very similar to other books on handbooks. It is not very long but it is very dense. You will have a difficult time trying to figure out what each section is about, because the book has so much material that it can seem overwhelming at times. There are many other students that I know that use the Organic Chemistry Klein book because it is very convenient. It helps the students to get through the course quickly and efficiently. It has sections that can be used to help test your knowledge on the subject matter. If you are in need of a chemistry book, I recommend that you purch ase this book. It is the best chemistry textbook I have seen. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a book that can help you with your chemistry homework.

Getting kids to start reading can be made easy and fun - ALOHA Mind Math

Getting kids to start reading can be made easy and fun Reading to your children every day is one of the most important things a parent can do. Not only you spend quality time with you children but also cultivate into them a habit which is a multidimensional process involving word recognition, comprehension, fluency, and motivation. Kindergarten and first grade lay the foundation for how kids feel about books throughout theireducation, says Annemarie B. Jay, Ph.D., director of graduate and doctoral reading programs at Widener University, in Chester, Pennsylvania. As a kid I used to dread reading a book merely by just looking at the thickness of the book. Have you faced similar issues with your children? It is very important for a parent not only to read to their children but to also teach them to read on their own and most importantly getting them to like doing it. You need to draw them to have an equally liking towards letters, sounds and words as much they have towards playing board games. Learning to read is a simple process, it may take a while to develop reading proficiency but once the foundation is laid it’s for life and your kids will benefit from it forever. I would like to share with you a few tricks which you could probably use to take your first steps towards getting your kids to start reading and off course enjoy doing it to. Go beyond books; get your kids to read almost everything they come across in their daily life for example comics, game directions, cereal boxes, sign boards, store names when you’re driving, billboards, kid-friendly magazines or columns the list can go on. This gets them to comprehend and synthesize the information from what theyve read. Read it out aloud and engage your kids in the story; discuss the story plot with them this jump starts their imagination process and helps kids predict the story while illustrations often give them clues to word. They also build knowledge bank of words through this. Bring in competition: List down 5 books which you and your kid can read and keep a tracker and see how far each one goes on daily basis. The winner obviously gets gift in form of BEST SELLER. Enroll to the Aloha Reading/Writing program which is an integrated approach to develop and strengthen communication skills. Aloha mind math reading writing programs have achieved some commendable results getting kids to bring about a structure in their reading skills which includes fiction and nonfiction passages from a variety of genres. The strength of this program is that it is not like tutoring programs in which the students are expected to sit for an hour and fill out worksheets. In the Aloha Reading/Writing program the students are active learners as opposed to passive recipients of information. They are engaged throughout the lesson and the active learning experience results in confident and effective communicators. Check them out here http://alohamindmath.com/program/reading-writing/ Well I am going to be sharing these ideas with my friends and family and hope you can use them and do the same.

What Is The Difference Between an Online Tutor and a Regular Tutor?

What Is The Difference Between an Online Tutor and a Regular Tutor?Computer tutors are good for all the ages. There are a lot of students who are very dependent on the internet for their work. The tutors are experienced and have a lot of knowledge in teaching computer classes for students who are self-taught or have some limited knowledge about computers. However, the online tutors are not the same as a regular tutor.Tutors can be obtained from regular or online tutors. In the case of regular tutors, you have to pay your fee at the beginning of each semester. Online tutors are also available online but you have to pay for the service.Tutors are trained to provide useful knowledge about computer lessons for writers. You can find tutors that offer the services through different sources and they may charge different rates for the tutoring. You can check out the website of a particular tutor and see what services are offered to the clients. A tutor may ask for money up front from his clie nt to cover some amount for the book fees. If you find out that the tutor is a person who charges large fees for the services, it is advisable to go for another teacher.Tutors have specialties and they specialize in specific subject areas. This will enable you to select a tutor according to your individual needs. If you have a partner who would also want to learn how to write, you can discuss with the tutor and find out if there is any cost difference if you would be getting the services of a tutor who does not charge for the book fees. In fact, this is something that you should consider because sometimes it might be better to hire a tutor who does not charge for the service. The internet has changed the way people communicate and study. You can communicate with anybody and take your online tutoring courses anytime anywhere. You can also get online tutorials from the internet too.

What Is a Chemistry Solution Definition?

What Is a Chemistry Solution Definition? You can do a lot with a chemistry solution definition. This is something that can be very helpful to you when you are in your first year of chemistry. There are plenty of places that you can look for this definition, but here is where you will want to start when it comes to looking for a definition for this. There are a few different types of definitions, but the most common type is what is called a traditional definition. This means that the definition includes some parts of how the definition is used, but also what it is not. This definition can help you make it easier to understand what the definition is saying about a chemical.A second type of definition is a simple definition. This type of definition is also important to have. A simple definition tells you a little bit about the chemical and how it works, but does not go into as much detail as the traditional definition.A third type of definition is a complex definition. This definition can include both how it is used and what it is not.The fourth type of definition is a common definition. This type of definition is also helpful because it makes it easier to explain what a chemical is used for, so you can tell someone how to use it and not be confused by the chemical definition. Finally, there is a common compound or chemical definition. This definition is used to tell you the chemical's properties, meaning that it will tell you what the chemical does in a way that it is used in the real world. These types of definitions can make it easier to figure out what you need to know about a chemical when you need to do some research on it.These definitions are good for you to be familiar with, because they can help you tounderstand how a chemical is used. It can also help you learn how to use a chemical, which is the goal of this definition.

gTar Is This Grown-Up Guitar Hero Worth It

gTar Is This Grown-Up Guitar Hero Worth It Suzy S. Weve posted about cool tech innovations before, but were especially intrigued by the newest it item for budding musicians: behold, the gTar.  While many professionals have criticized earlier programs like Rock Band and Guitar Hero for not teaching actual chords, with the gTar, youre actually playing on true-to-life frets and strings.  The product is still in the early stages, but its been getting a ton of industry buzz. Playing the hardware looks easy enough: simply place your phone in the iPhone dock, choose a song within the gTar app library, and the corresponding strings/frets light up as the tune plays through.  Users can also open a free play mode, allowing you to pick and play at your leisure along with different instruments and effects. Check out this video footage of the inventor, Idan Beck, explaining the concept: Its been interesting to see the evolution of these kinds of games and programs: weve seen Rocksmith and Guitar Prodigy roll through, with the technology to hook up to real guitars, and other novelty apps like the Futulele transform iPads and iPhones into instruments, but this newest product is the closest weve gotten to the real thing. Basically, as HypeBot describes, the gTar is a $450 guitar with an iPhone for a brain. Sensors fill the neck of the guitar, and every string vibration is recognized although the sounds come out of your iPhones speakers.  The company worked with guitar makers to make it as true-to-form as possible, and the body is made out of wood, as opposed to plastic. Our opinion?  Products like gTar will never replace good old-fashioned guitars (or guitar teachers!). But  we want to hear what you think are you still suspicious of virtual guitar games like the gTar?  Teachers, are you for or against this kind of learning?  Let us know what you think leave a comment below, or stop by our Facebook page to share! How to Structure Your Guitar Practice for Ideal Results

How to Structure Your Guitar Practice for Ideal Results Suzy S. Struggling with your guitar practice? If youre not improving as much as you expected, poor practice habits might be to blame. Revamp your attitude and your routine with this advice from Clearwater, FL   teacher Jeremy R I’ll never forget the first time I saw it. I couldn’t believe what the tablature was saying. Here in my hands was the Steve Vai guitar workout. It was an amazing assortment of flying fingers and knuckle-breaking speed. I took it home and for hours attempted the same type of craziness that Vai pulls off so fluently. After about two weeks I was able to play half of the simplest of the exercises, but not very well. I persevered but after a month still wasn’t making very much progress. As I became increasingly frustrated, I stopped doing the Vai exercises and soon moved on to playing something else. What I failed to realize was that I wasn’t Steve Vai, accomplished guitar virtuoso. I was Jeremy, who had been playing guitar for two months. There was no way that I was going to be able to play like Vai in the one or two weeks that I would have liked. I tell you this story to illustrate the importance of having a regular and regimented practice routine. The goals and milestones will always change over time, and your focus may change as well. The formula for effective practice, however, has and always will be the same. It is a story of incremental progress and inspiration. I like to break my practice down into 30 minutes. Sometimes I might practice more, but never less than 30 minutes. Some teachers recommend practicing two or three times a week for 30 minutes. This is normal and good. Too much practice and you will risk burning out. Too little of a challenge and you’ll be bored with mindless scales until your next lesson. Heres a good breakdown of 30-minute practice session: The first 10 minutes: During my first ten minutes I review the things that I have been working toward. This is as much of a warm-up for me as it is keeping recent techniques in my memory and fresh on the fretboard. For instance, if I was working on bending strings last week, I play ten minutes of blues with string bends, etc. Second 10 Minutes: This is where the hard work comes in. I try to tackle something new. It doesn’t have to be technically difficult. Maybe it’s putting expression in a song and playing with conviction.   Music is so cool because it doesn’t have to be a blistering shred of notes that fly off the fretboard to be amazing! Third 10 Minutes: This is my favorite part. It’s doing something fun on my instrument. For example, I might turn on the radio and play along to whatever song is on. It’s an interesting challenge and its fun to learn songs that wouldn’t necessarily be my preference. Its important to remember to take a break after the half hour. If you want to keep playing, great but you do need a break.  Do this regimen three to four times per week for a month and you will make great strides in short time, because you’re working smarter and not harder. Now go forth and rock the world! Jeremy R. teaches bass guitar, guitar, singing, Broadway singing, music recording, music theory, songwriting, speaking voice, trumpet, acting, French horn and upright bass lessons to students in Clearwater, FL.  Find a teacher to book lessons today! You are in control of your Attitude - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / You are in control of your Attitude - Introvert Whisperer You are in control of your Attitude I want to make it about your ability to choose your general outlook on things that come your way in life or at work.   While there may be something that comes your way that makes you stressed or unhappy at first, you can choose to let that linger with you or you can choose how you want to feel. Some people think that whatever way they feel about something is not in their control but that’s not really the case.   We have gotten used to reacting to our situations, especially negative ones, and simply live with it.   It’s a paradigm or belief that you have no control but you are in complete control and probably very few people have shared that insight.   It’s important to know this fact. If this sounds like you and you are now wondering how do you “turn off” your brain or “switch it”, you do have some work to do to retrain yourself but it’s painless and will take some time.   Let me give you an example: If someone doesn’t speak to you on the way into work in the morning, you can choose to take it personally and let it hurt your feelings or you can choose to think this person has something on their mind.   See?   It’s your choice on how to view a situation that could be negative. Here’s your quick brain “re-train: Catch yourself in a negative reaction. Ask yourself: “How do I choose to feel right now?” or “What is a different perspective I could take that would serve me better right now?” Repeat until you have a new habit. So, choose to live a life you prefer. Go to top Let me emphasize that Self-Promotion doesn’t have to be obnoxious to be effective.  But, if you don’t Self-Promote you, who will?  If you ever want to get ahead, you have to learn how to Self-Promote. I want to help you accelerate your career by connecting you with your Free Instant Access to my video that shows you simple, yet effective ways to Self-Promote. Start watching now by clicking here! To Learn More Keep Testing Yourself

To Learn More Keep Testing Yourself It turns out that taking a test isnt just a teachers easy way of finding out where students stand or forcing them to read a chapter in a textbook. Testing might actually boost student learning and improve memory retention, according to a report cited in the New York Times. The report, published in the journal Science, concluded that students who read a passage and were then tested a week later on what they read retained about 50% more of the information than students who used other, common study methods. The other methods students used were repeatedly studying the material cramming and creating detailed diagrams of the information, connecting it all together in students own words and thoughts. Many teachers believe that the latter method is an effective method for studying because it forces students to create connections among information points. These two methods can give students the false belief that they know the information better than they actually do, according to the report. The results surprised many cognitive psychologists and other educational scientists who long believed that creating connections among information was the best method of learning. For the test, researchers placed 200 college students in two experiments, both experiments had them read several passages about scientific subjects, like the digestive system or muscle tissues. In the first experiment, students were separated into four groups. The first simply read the passage in a five-minute session, the second read it in four separate, five-minute intervals, the third engaged in concept mapping, creating hand-drawn diagrams and bubbles to link the information they read in their own, personally-organized fashion, the fourth group took a retrieval practice test, where they free wrote every thing they remembered for 10 minutes. This group then reread the passage and took a second retrieval practice test. All four groups were than given a short-answer test a week later, assessing how much of the information they could recall and the logical conclusions they could create about what they had read. The students in the fourth group, who performed the retrieval practice tests, outperformed all other groups. The second experiment focused only on concept mapping and retrieval practice testing. Students were separated into two groups. One group created a concept map, and the other group took tests, asking them to recall information. Similar to the first experiments results, the students who took retrieval tests recalled more information a week later, even when they were asked to draw a concept map from memory. Cognitive psychologists cannot exactly pinpoint what causes these results. But, many believe its because taking preliminary tests gives our brains practice. Our brains can create contextual cues and patterns for remembering information during the preliminary tests, making recall easier because the brain can then remember the cues and the patterns, which can then lead to remembering the information itself. Then once the second test is administered, our brains can easily recall these patterns or context cues because they were previously in our minds. These results have practical applications as many teachers administer quizzes or practice tests before larger, more-weighted exams, or even when teachers administer mid-term exams then final exams. Students who were previously tested on material will be able to remember it more effectively when they are tested again.

5 Questions Grad Students Should Ask Their Advisors

5 Questions Grad Students Should Ask Their Advisors One of the perks of being in grad school are the people who are there to help you along your journeyespecially those who are experts in your field. Take advantage of these mentorship opportunities by cultivating a relationship with your academic advisor. You might have an advisor who simply helps you choose classes, or an advisor who will guide you during your dissertation/thesis years. Here are five questions grad students should ask their advisors: 1. What are my required classes? Before or at the beginning of each semester, schedule a meeting with your advisor to discuss which classes youre interested in taking, which fulfill needed requirements, and which will add to your academic and intellectual growth. This is a great opportunity to plan outlong-termwhich courses to take for each semester in terms of pacing and any other outside commitments, like internships or jobs. Bring up any points of confusion, as not all school policies and intricacies are usually addressed in a brochure. Youll get a better idea of where youre headed and may be able to sidestep any potential complications in the future. [RELATED: What is the Grad School Application Process?] 2. What should I focus on for my thesis? Speaking with your advisor about required classes generally happens during your beginning years in the program; discussing your thesis or dissertation usually comes later, nearer to graduation. Your thesis, dissertation, or capstone project is the meat and potatoes of why youre there. Ask your advisor for feedback at various stages of your project. For example, at the beginning, you might ask for help in shaping a direction for your work. In the middle of your project, you might ask for help breaking down larger tasks into smaller ones. Toward the end, youll want to ask for specific notes on your research or final paper. Ask your advisor for book recommendations, outside resources that might be helpful, people to contact who have completed the work youre interested in, and so on. 3. What kind of funding is available to me? Depending on your program, you may be fully-, partially-, or not at all funded for grad school. In any case, its a great idea to speak with your advisor about how you can maintain or find other sources of income while youre attending grad school. He or she may have leads you dont know about, both within the school and outside it. If funding is competitive at your school, ask your advisor for advice on what could make you a more attractive candidate for a scholarship or grant, for instance. 4. How can I start planning for the future? Especially as a grad student, the future can seem very hazy. You might be interested in teaching higher education, or you may look into going into your field directly, whatever that may look like. Your advisor is likely to have gone down this path as well with many years of valuable experience. Discuss with him or her whats realistic to look forward to in the job market and what you can do to point yourself in the right direction. He or she may be able to guide you to specific companies, organizations, or even people who could help you along the way as well. Talking with your advisor about future plans may not totally extinguish anxieties, but it can help a great deal as you move toward graduation and beyond. 5. How can I grow in my field? Ask your advisor how you might be able to excel and develop in your field. This could be related to future jobs, as mentioned, but it also includes your growth in the present moment. Are there opportunities to publish your work, attend conferences, or meet colleagues and/or other experts in your field? What tasks can you do over the summer that will allow you to make the most of that time off? Your advisor will often have really great ideas of how you can challenge yourself in interesting ways. As a grad student, you may feel isolated in your specific project or topic, but thats not how it has to be! Speaking with your advisor is a great way to gain a greater perspective of your work, as well as a valuable mentor or friend. Dont wait until thesis or dissertation year; meet with him or her early on in your program. Any topics you want to know more about? Let us know!
